October 3rd 2023 Weekly Economic Update

Last week's market saw a continued decrease in index values as the market continues to price in the likelihood of a recession due to stickier than expected inflation numbers. Views on another rate hike by the Fed in November are split pretty evenly down the middle. We also avoided a Federal Government shutdown on Saturday, but it is still possible that there could be a shutdown at least for a short period of time by the end of this year.
